Growing up in the Midwest, I had the chance to travel quite a bunch as a kid. From winter trips to Arkansas hot springs and Gulf Shore states; summer jaunts up to Lake Michigan or floating down the Jacks Fork River; and even fall road trips through corn country en-route to the head waters of the Mississippi River, I was a kid on the move.
And since the state where I was born touches 8 other states, my parents consistently showed me that a five-hour drive could get you to totally foreign land (aka – Iowa). *It should be noted that I fully blame my parents for my wanderlust – Thanks Mom & Dad!
Now as an Adventure Hydrologist (think Indiana Jones but more water) I am constantly journeying to new and exciting locations to see what local adventures are near-by; to see what new things I can learn; to connect with interesting/amazing people; and to see what kind of trouble I can get myself into (and back out of).
Adventure Hydro Challenge – Tennessee and what other state touch 8 other states? (the answer is the state I am from!)
Join me as I take you from the glaciated cliffs of Yosemite to the red rock layers of Sedona, Arizona. From floating on lazy rivers in the Midwest to battling the crashing torrents of the mighty Arkansas though the Royal Gorge. Come climb with me to the highest peaks on the coldest mountains and back down again to the lowest points in the hottest places.
Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.– Ralph Waldo Emerson
Cheers!
